El Burj Khalifa de Dubai es el edificio más alto del mundo a fecha de hoy: 829.84 m. Se comenzó a construir el 21 de Septiembre de 2004 y fue abierto oficialmente el 4 de Enero de 2010. La arquitectura e ingeniería de la torre fue llevada a cabo por Skidmore, Owings and Merrill de Chicago, con Adrian Smith como arquitecto jefe, y Bill Baker como jefe de ingeniería. Tiene 163 plantas habitables, 46 plantas de mantenimiento y dos plantas de parking en el sótano.
