A warning system similar in many ways to a fire warning system, but differing in that it initiates the warning signal at a lower temperature than needed for a fire warning. A high temperature in a small area initiates a fire warning, but a lower temperature over a larger area indicates an overtemperature condition.

# Tornadoes
# Embedded thunderstorms
# Line of thunderstorms
# Thunderstorms with very heavy precipitation and severe turbulence affecting 40% or more of an area of at least 3,000 square miles.
Industry:Aviation
A weather advisory issued concerning weather significant to the safety of all aircraft. SIGMET advisories cover severe and extreme turbulence, severe icing, and widespread dust or sandstorms that reduce visibility to less than three miles.
