Sheep are very useful animals. They are mostly kept because of their wool, but you can also ear their meat. Some breeds of sheep even give milk. Because sheep are put out to graze on the dykes, with their hoofs they also tred down the ground. By doing so, they contribute to the safety of the dykes.
Schafe sind sehr nützliche Tiere. Sie werden vor allem wegen der Wolle gehalten, aber man kann aber auch ihr Fleisch essen. Manche Schafrassen geben sogar Milch. Da Schafe die Gräser auf den Deichen abweiden, treten sie dabei auch den Boden mit ihren Hufen fest. Dies tägt zur Sicherheit der Deiche bei.
The Dragon Festival in St. Peter-Ording offers many kites from all around Germany, the Netherlands and England. It attracts many visitors every year. A particular highlight is the night flying show. The next Dragon Festival in St. eter-Ording takes place from August 22 to 24, 2014.
