When the button in the driver’s door trim or the soft-touch button in the handle recess on the luggage compartment lid is pressed, or the trunk release button on the remote central locking control is pressed and held for 2 seconds, the lid will open smoothly. It is closed by pressing a button on the inside of the trunk lid. On certain vehicles, the opening angle of the automatically controlled luggage compartment lid can be individually programmed by the user, in order to prevent damage to the lid, for example, in the case of low garage door clearance.

A force limiter in the safety belt system on current Audi models reduces the force applied by the safety belt on the occupant.
